To ensure that packaging stocks are ordered and scheduled for delivery to the specification agreed with the supplier, whilst at the same time minimising stock holding and waste. 
 Ensure that the expectations of our customer are fully met in terms of price, availability and quality.  

Strategy 
Work closely with the Group Packaging Buyer to develop and implement a packaging supplier strategy in line with business procurement objectives. 

Financial 
  Deliver personal material price variance target. 
  Deliver departmental material price variance budget. 
  Manage standard and purchase cost differential. 
  Highlight areas where potential savings can be achieved. 
   Look to add value to the process by removing cost from the supply chain wherever possible. 
   Record and report any residual stock issues, 

Stock Control 
Place all packaging and ancillary orders with the appropriate supplier using the agreed written specification sheets where applicable. It is understood that packaging and ancillary items are not exhaustive or permanent and that other items may be added or taken away at various times. 
Apply robust Stock Control measures to ensure that suppliers meet the required delivery deadlines, ensuring that sufficient materials are available prior to production in line with order volumes, taking account of any existing on site stock and rejections. 
Schedule all hardware containers once shipment has taken place by liaising with the freight forwards, inform goods inwards of all pending container arrivals. 
Frequently review the forecasted order volumes against stock availability and future deliveries, taking action as necessary in order to eliminate any shortages caused by late delivery, rejections etc. 

Supplier Focus 
Monitor and measure the performance of our suppliers in terms of on time and in full delivery, quality and improvement activity 
Implement terms and conditions with suppliers including payment terms as determined by the Group Packaging Buyer.  
Raise claims against suppliers as appropriate when the specification is not met. 

Customer Focus 
Work with the Account Managers and NPD to maximise the profitable development of the business through all aspects of the commercial mix including product range and development, sales and marketing opportunities. 
Ensure that the Hardware QA team are supplied the correct specification on all orders to enable that samples are supplied to the required standards / specification.
