This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the UK’s leading flower businesses, helping to create and prepare high-quality floral products for customers nationwide.
About the Role
As a General Operative, you will play an important role in ensuring products are packed to specification, quality standards are maintained, and production targets are achieved safely and efficiently. You will work as part of a supportive team in a busy production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Packing bouquets and floral products to customer specifications
Ensuring product quality, presentation, and correct labelling
Maintaining hygiene and housekeeping standards
Supporting line efficiency and reducing waste
Reporting any quality or production issues to supervisors
Operating equipment safely, including guillotines when required
Following company procedures, SOPs, and Health &amp; Safety policies
Assisting with stock movement, table supply, and waste segregation
Supporting team members and helping train new operatives where required
What We’re Looking For
Good level of English, numeracy, and literacy
Ability to work well as part of a team
Flexible, proactive, and reliable attitude
Strong attention to detail and quality
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience in bouquet making or flower handling is beneficial but not essential
Desirable Skills
Bouquet wrapping and spiralling experience
Knowledge of flower quality standards
Experience working to production targets
Understanding of hygiene and food safety standards

To ensure all products are packed in line with the current product specification / quality contracts including plant/flower/gifting quality, Price labelling, packaging and box ends, or any agreed variance as instructed by the line Leader 
Pay particular attention to line output. 
To report any quality concerns to the team leader or QA Team 
 
Rework   
Minimise the level of rework through a Right First-Time approach.   
Any product that doesn’t meet the correct specifications or is an over pack should be either re-worked or unpacked in the agreed time span. 
 
Administration 
To follow the label check procedure, ensuring correct label usage. 
To follow the knife control policy. 
To ensure you are wearing the correct work wear. 
To follow all standard operating procedures (SOP’s)/Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).

To report machine faults immediately to engineering department

Printroom processing experience is desirable
